The Fitbit Inc (NYSE:FIT) Flex 2: What It Has To Offer

Fitbit Inc (NYSE:FIT) recently launched its next generation Flex fitness tracker known as the Flex 2 and it is a significant upgrade compared to the first one.

The Fitbit Flex 2 is one of the latest fitness wearables to come from Fitbit. The company has been producing a strong line of fitness wearables that have helped secure a strong reputation for the firm in the wearables industry. While Fitbit trackers products have become more complicated over time, the company has decided to feature simplicity with the Flex 2. It comes as a simple fitness tracker with no added features on top of the regular fitness tracking essentials.

The flex 2 wristband feels a lot like the original Flex wristband but it comes with a few notable upgrades. The Flex 2 has a slimmer profile which is 30% smaller than its predecessor. It is also water resistant meaning it can be used as a swimming accessory. It can automatically track specific types of physical activities. As for the downsides, the Flex 2 does not include a display screen like the first generation Flex wristband. It instead uses illuminated dots to show fitness data.

The Flex 2 comes with a price tag of $99.95 without any accessories. However, buyers can opt for customization options by purchasing premium bangles or pendants that can be attached to the Flex 2. The price for the bangles ranges between $89.95 and $99.95 while the price range for the pendants ranges between $79.95 and $99.95. The classic bands are however available at a much lower price tag at $14.95 for a single band. Buyers have the option of purchasing a three-pack for $29.95.

As far as comfort is concerned, the new band is reportedly more comfortable than its predecessor. This is important especially for people who want to keep them on their wrists at night.

Fitbit stock closed the latest trading session at $13.81.
