Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) has revealed a ten-year plan that he believes will guide the company towards more success over the next decade.

The CEO’s announcement was about the company venturing deeper into various fields including virtual reality, artificial intelligence, drone technology and telecom infrastructure. His announcement outlined the Facebook app, Whatsapp, and others as the vehicles that it will use to achieve the outlined plan.
Zuckerberg emphasized the use of bots in the future, and he also stated that businesses will get to create their own virtual assistants through the Messenger platform API. The company believes that virtual reality will be achieved using devices that are the same size as a regular pair of glasses, and they will also feature augmented reality similar to that of the Hololens from Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT). This has raised questions about the company’s plan with the Oculus Rift.
The announcement also revealed a drone that the company will use to take the internet to places with low internet connection through the use of lasers. Apart from a few new details, most of the things that the company revealed had previously been hinted or talked about. For instance, the company’s plan with the Messenger had previously been covered well in the media. The company’s overall plan is to create an ecosystem of features that can be monetized.
The CEO’s announcement also revealed the company’s desire to reach everyone on a global scale and the theme of the keynote was centered towards giving everyone the ability to share anything with anyone. He spoke about overcoming social challenges.
