Facebook is among the technology giants that has adopted a measured approach to blockchain. As the technology got more popular, the firm responded with the formation of the Facebook blockchain team. Particularly, the taskforce would focus on ways through which the tech giant would exploit blockchain for their benefit.

Interestingly, the team is getting bigger. According to Finance Magnates, it seems the tech giant is on a hiring spree for vacancies in the blockchain team. As per the publication, a job description in September wanted a head of business development and partnerships. Normally, this is the position of an individual who leads deal making activities of a company.

In part, the job description read:

“The Head of BD and Partnership team will play a key role in shaping and pushing forward this vision by bringing the voice of our global partners to inform our product, strategy and investments while also negotiating and closing deals to realize the vision.”

CNBC reports that Facebook began the blockchain dream team back in May by tapping former Facebook Messenger leader David Marcus. As per CNBC, Marcus even stepped off the Coinbase board to focus entirely on the new assignment ahead.

However, Facebook is not quite forthcoming on the Facebook blockchain team. According to CNBC, Facebook insists that the team will focus on building an artificial intelligence platform. Further it says that the team will use blockchain to create new ways to share information. The conglomerate is also not forthcoming on whether it has plans to develop or dabble in cryptocurrencies proper.

According to another job description of a vacancy posted on the tech giant’s website, the company is adding team members. As per the description, the company is looking to fill the position of a Global Brand Development Lead. Among other things, the position requires the successful candidate to develop marketing insights that will facilitate the team’s growth.
