The Designing Of AI Chips For HoloLens By Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) Praised By Analysts

The stock of Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) closed at $73.60 losing 0.26% in yesterday’s trading session. The move by the top provider to focus on designing its own chips for the next HoloLens has been termed progressive one by analysts.

It goes without saying that the next version of its HoloLens augmented reality glasses will take users to a whole new experience. It will be possible to carry out the various intelligence tasks as well.

While addressing a number of news reporters, one of the company’s top executives outlined that the AI co-processor is a very important tool. It will help much towards analyzing auditory, visual, and other sensor data on the device. This will be contrary to the earlier mechanism. That one had users heavily rely on sending information to the cloud-based server for review.

Microsoft’s director of science for the HoloLens, Marc Pollefeys while speaking in a recent board meeting outlined, “This is the kind of thinking you need if you’re going to develop mixed reality devices that are themselves intelligent. Mixed reality and artificial intelligence represent the future of computing, and we’re excited to be advancing this frontier.”

Marc added that he was happy with the fact that the company had some time back expressed its dedication in the development of its own chips. Those would help carry out important roles in the various cloud data centers according to Yahoo.

The company later resorted to manufacturing its own line of A-series processors for the iPhone. That was not all; it again developed the M-series motion processors. Some top analysts see this progress as something worthy of emulation by some of the other players in the industry. The bottom-line that needs to be adhered to by any company is to ensure the production of top end products that offer real value to customers.

One thing that is quite evident lately is the fact that more companies are now acquiring custom chips for their various mobile devices. The AI programs are quite instrumental especially when it comes to both speech and image recognition. Technology is sweeping across pretty fast with each and every company making efforts to perfect the different apps and algorithms.
