Contract Between Arizona Lottery And Scientific Games Corp (NASDAQ:SGMS) Extended

Arizona Lottery has extended the contract it has for instant games with Scientific Games Corp (NASDAQ:SGMS) by another one year. Scientific Games is a leading provider of lottery instant games across the globe and has enjoyed a relationship with Arizona Lottery that spans 36 years. The most recent collaborative effort between the two entities was launching Ultimate Millions, a $30 instant game.

Service extension

The extension will see Arizona Lottery players continue to get innovative products from Scientific Games including games such as Scratch My Back. Arizona Lottery’s executive director, Gregg Edgar, said the lottery was anticipating a mutually beneficial relationship with the contract extension.

“[Scientific Games] has been instrumental in helping the Lottery maximize net revenue in a responsible manner to support Arizona programs for the public benefit. We look forward to more innovation coming…,” said Edgar.

Besides instant games and other related services, Scientific Games additionally offers Arizona Lottery point-of-sale technology and a central gaming system. The point-of-sale system went live across the state at various retailers recently. Scientific Games also offers a player loyalty program and licensed brands to Arizona Lottery.

Charity activities

Since 1981 when the Arizona Lottery begun, over $3.5 billion has been raised for initiatives and programs that serve to enrich the lives of Arizonians. This includes economic development, environmental conservation, human and health services and education.

Besides Arizona Lottery, Scientific Games offers its services, technology and games to over 150 other lotteries across the globe. This includes almost every lottery in North America. And other than draw-based lottery games and instant games, Scientific Games has a wide portfolio of products. This includes gaming machines, interactive content, interactive services, sports betting technology and table games products.

The contract extension between Scientific Games and Arizona Lottery comes days after a similar contract extension was signed between the instant games provider and the Iowa Lottery. In this case, the contract for gaming systems was extended by an additional two years while the contract for instant games was extended by an extra one year.

On Tuesday shares of Scientific Games Corp rose by 4.37% to close the day at $22.70.
