Cansortium (CSE: TIUM) (OTC: CNTMF), a provider of medical cannabis under the Fluent brand, is bullish on the Florida medical marijuana market and is expanding its retail footprint in the state.

The company is opening a new Fluent dispensary at a prime location in Melbourne. The new store will represent the company’s 11 in Florida, with 19 more locations expected to be opened or secured by the end of 2019.

New Dispensary

The new 1,700-square-foot Melbourne dispensary started operations on June 10. It is located at 6340 N. Wickham Road, a site which enjoys a daily traffic count of more than 30,000 cars and will serve a population of more than 85,000 residents who live within a five-mile radius.

“We are excited to be opening our first location in Brevard County, offering convenient access to our premium cannabis products for all the customers in the area, including the approximately 25,000 veterans and their families who live on or near Patrick Air Force Base,” states Mark Batievsky, director of retail operations.

Jose Hidalgo, the CEO of Cansortium, says that Florida has “the fastest-growing medical marijuana patient population in the U.S.” and his company “controls one of only 14 operating licenses granted by” the state.

“We are excited about our plans to continue expanding our Florida dispensary network in order to conveniently serve more Florida residents with our premium-quality, consistently-formulated cannabis products,” Hidalgo says.

In addition to Florida, Hidalgo notes that Cansortium is also focusing on other markets. He notes that the company continues “to build our business platforms in Texas, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Puerto Rico and Canada, as well as pursue licensing in several other markets to support future growth.”
