EY has launched EY Ops Chain Public Edition prototype, the world’s first implementation of zero-knowledge proof technology on the public Ethereum blockchain. The technology will allow companies to privately and securely create and sell product and service tokens on a public blockchain with private access to their transaction records.
Web Global Holdings (OTC: WEBB), a cryptocurrency holding firm specializing in media and digital currency mining operations, has released the first teaser trailer for its highly-anticipated OTT streaming TV channel CryptoCake. The creators and lead producers of CryptoCake will be showcasing the new trailer at World Crypto Con 2018 conference in Las Vegas from October 31-November 2. The five show trailers will be made available online after the conference released throughout November.
Xsolla has formed a partnership with DMarket, an in-game items monetization technology and service, to bring blockchain-based in-game item trading to the global video game community. This will allow developers, content creators, and gamers to own virtual assets, as well as participate and profit from in-game item trading.
Crypto hardware wallet firm Ledger has opened a new office in Hong Kong. In a press statement, the hardware wallet manufacturer said that it has appointed Benjamin Soong as head of the Asia Pacific (APAC) to oversee the company’s operations in the region. Previously, Soong worked as a managing director of S&P Global.
China’s retailing giant JD.com has teamed up with the Ying Wu College of Computing at the New Jersey Institute of Technology and the Institute of Software at the Chinese Academy of Sciences to launch a joint research lab for blockchain technologies. “The joint lab will focus on solving efficiency and stability challenges that are the most significant bottlenecks restricting the wider application of blockchain, and explore new applications of the technology,” JD.com said in a statement.
Software giant Microsoft announced that it is integrating Azure Blockchain into NASDAQ’s Financial Framework, technology which provides software for trading infrastructure and operations outsourcing as well as meets the stock exchange’s risk and surveillance technology offering. According to a joint statement, Azure will offer communication between the NASDAQ’s offering for financial infrastructure providers and their customer technologies so they can meet their requirements across multiple projects.
Belgium-based investment firm NXMH has acquired cryptocurrency exchange Bitstamp. Reuters reports that NXMH struck an all-cash deal to buy the cryptocurrency exchange. In a statement, Bitstamp said, “the reason why we finally decided to sell the company is a combination of the quality of the buyer, the quality of the offer and the fact that the industry is at a point where consolidation makes sense. A major factor in agreeing to the sale is that the mission, leadership and vision of the company remains the same.” Bitstamp was valued at $60 million in 2016, according to Reuters.
