A consortium of international bankers, Papersoft Africa, and digital transformation company iVEDiX have teamed up to launch a blockchain and digital currency project as part of a cashless financial transactional system to support entrepreneurs in Africa.
Kinesis Money, a monetary system that uses real assets as the basis for digital currencies, has formed a partnership with TicketSocket, a white label ticketing, registration and event management platform. The partnership will see Kinesis currencies integrated as a payment option within the TicketSocket platform. Using Kinesis digital currencies, users will be able to buy tickets for world-leading events.
BLUCON is introducing a P2P business platform service to allow users purchase and pay directly from social media pages. The P2P business platform will combine blockchain technology with P2P advertisement solutions and transaction systems within the advertisement and marketing industry.
HBUS, a partner of blockchain asset solutions provider Huobi, has named Tiffani McCoy as general counsel. McCoy previously served as the assistant general counsel at Intuit. Before that, she held management positions at Google and Yahoo. McCoy has more than 20 years of experience in legal counseling.
Oracle has launched the Blockchain Applications Cloud, a suite of use-case-specific SaaS applications to enhance traceability and transparency throughout the supply chain. Built with Oracle Blockchain Cloud Service, the Oracle Blockchain Applications connect with Oracle Supply Chain Management Cloud, Oracle Enterprise Resource Management Cloud and other Oracle Cloud Applications, the company said in a statement.
Intellect Global Transaction Banking (iGTB), the transaction banking division of Intellect Design Arena Ltd., has partnered with enterprise software firm R3 to develop applications and solutions on R3’s pen-source blockchain platform called Corda. iGTB is exploring the development of scalable, commercially viable solutions on Corda in three mainstream areas: trade finance/supply chain finance, payments and cash management and central banking.
Infosys Finacle, a division of Infosys subsidiary EdgeVerve Systems Ltd., announced that it will work with enterprise blockchain software firm R3 to offer blockchain solutions. The partnership will enable banks to easily access and deploy Finacle’s blockchain solutions on the Corda blockchain platform.
People Capital, the investment and venture capital arm of People’s Daily Online, has inked an agreement with Xunlei Ltd. to establish a blockchain innovation laboratory. The technology innovation laboratory will be set up as part of People Capital’s Blockchain Research Institute.
Taiwanese phone-maker HTC is building a blockchain-integrate smartphone that can be purchased only with Bitcoin or Ethereum. The smartphone, called the Exodus 1, will feature a cryptocurrency wallet built in. The company plans to start shipping in December.
The New York State Department of Financial Services (DFS) has approved the application of Coinbase Custody Trust Company, a Coinbase Global subsidiary, to operate as a limited purpose trust company. The DFS has also approved Coinbase Trust to offer secure custody services for six of the largest virtual currencies: Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Ether Classic, XRP and Litecoin.
