Blockchains and NV Energy have agreed to work together on energy projects powered by blockchain technology. The companies plan to “pilot concepts that place the customer in control of energy creation, consumption, storage and transactions,” according to a joint press statement. “The goal of this collaboration is to create technology solutions that will produce customer-centric energy platforms powered by public blockchain, all with the intent of integrating approved incubations into Nevada’s energy framework,” Blockchains CEO Jeffrey Berns said in the statement.
China’s largest healthcare platform Qingsongchou launched the first full industrial blockchain insurance in a partnership with Huatai P&C Insurance. The user-oriented product will be sold on Easy e-insurance under Qingsongchou, the company said in a press release.
Promise Software is launching the first post quantum secure peer-to-peer payment network. The company’s Blockchain Protocol called Promise is a new post quantum, non-interactive zero knowledge proofs and proxy re-signature payments network for on-chain and decentralized credit reputation building.
Ping An Insurance Company of China delivered Hong Kong’s first blockchain-based international trade finance platform called eTradeConnect. The blockchain-powered finance platform is initiated by seven founding banks in Hong Kong and facilitated by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority. Ping An subsidiary OneConnect was appointed by the founding banks through Hong Kong Trade Finance Platform Co. Ltd.to help design, develop and deploy the platform.
Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission has issued guidelines for funds dealing with cryptocurrencies. In a statement, the commission said it is issuing guidance on the regulatory standards expected of virtual asset portfolio managers and fund distributors in order to address risks associated with investing in virtual assets. The regulator also says that it is exploring a conceptual framework for the potential regulation of virtual asset trading platform operators.
South Korean cryptocurrency exchange Bithumb has inked a deal with U.S. crowd-funding platform SeriesOne to launch a securities token exchange in the U.S., South Korea’s news agency Yonhap reported citing individuals familiar with the matter. “The agreement with SeriesOne calls for Bithum to invest in and provide technical support for the establishment of the envisioned security token exchange in the world’s largest economy,” according to the news agency.
Blockchain venture production studio ConsenSys has acquired space firm Planetary Resources through an asset-purchase transaction. “I am proud of our team’s extraordinary accomplishments, grateful to our visionary supporters, and delighted to join ConsenSys in building atop our work to expand humanity’s economic sphere of influence into the Solar System,” Planetary Resources CEO Chris Lewicki said in a press statement. Lewicki is joining ConsenSys in connection with the acquisition.
