Aphria (TSX: APHA) (NYSE: APHA) recently filed a preliminary short form base shelf prospectus in Canada and a shelf registration statement the U.S. 

The company filed the shelf prospectus with the securities regulators in each province of Canada, except for the Province of Quebec, and the shelf registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. 

The filing of prospectus satisfies one of the company’s contractual obligations to its underwriters in connection with the US$350 million of convertible senior notes. It also provides the company the flexibility to allow an institutional investor or a strategic partner to invest in its business, or raise funds if necessary.
