Nintendo is set to release Super Mario Run for Android on Thursday, March 23.
Super Mario Run is a side-scrolling, auto-running video game. It is one of Nintendo’s first games developed for mobile devices.
Super Mario Run was launched for iPhone and iPad in December 2016. It is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices running iOS 8.0 or later.
You can download it from the App Store for free. Or just wait until Thursday to download and play it on your Android device.
How to Play?
Super Mario Run features the most iconic video game hero of all time. It has three modes: the main game; a Toad Rally mode where you compete against ghosts of other players; and a Mushroom Kingdom mode.
Mario runs forward on his own but relies on the tap of a single finger to jump over obstacles, avoid enemies, pull off stylish moves, collect coins and reach the flagpole to complete courses.
In addition to English, Super Mario Run also supports Japanese, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Russian and traditional Chinese language.
Super Mario Run received an overwhelm response. The game generated more than $5 million in revenue during the first 24 hours after its release on December 15. It became the fastest-growing app in iOS history. It was downloaded more than 5 million times during the first 24 hours, and more than 50 million times during its first week of release.
Super Mario Run was produced by Shigeru Miyamoto.
“The wait is almost over for a Super Mario game that can be played on mobile devices,” Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America’s senior vice president of sales and marketing, said in a statement issued last year. “Developed under the direction of Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto, Super Mario Run brings a new take on the series’ beloved action-platforming gameplay to iPhone and iPad for the first time.”
