Open Source Hardware Cryptocurrency Wallet Unveiled By McAfee And Bitfi

Global payments tech firm Bitfi has launched the Bitfi Wallet. According to the payments company the hardware wallet is unhackable. Some of the digital currencies that the wallet supports include privacy-oriented virtual currency Monero (XMR) which has not previously had a hardware wallet. The wallet comes with a dashboard consisting of a wireless setup as well as support.

One of the members of the Bitfi team is John McAfee, a serial entrepreneur known for the anti-virus software named after him and most recently as a blockchain and cryptocurrency evangelist. McAfee has also been a cryptocurrency social media influencer.

“Of all today’s elaborate and sophisticated methods for making wallets secure and easy to use, surely none is as epic as that of the new Bitfi wallet … No other hardware wallet has ever been built to this level of sophistication,” McAfee said at the launch of the Bitfi hardware wallet.

Guaranteed security

With the Bitfi wallet security is guaranteed without requiring users to possess sophisticated technical skills. There is also no need for app installations or downloads as all that is required is a wireless connection. The most recent software updates are installed automatically and this eliminates the possibility of users downloading software that is corrupted or being exposed to phishing schemes.

Once support for other digital currencies as well as crypto assets is added by Bitfi, users of the wallet will see them automatically appear with no input required on their part. Thus users of the hardware wallet will have access to the latest technology as well as updates ensuring that the wallet is a secure and long-term investment.

Ethereum balances

Additionally the Bitfi Knox Wallet allows the viewing of all balances by users at a single glance. Users can also switch between digital currencies quickly be it for business or personal purposes. There is also Ethereum (ETH) native support and this allows users to access tokens as well as view their ETH balances in one place instead of using 3rd-party services.

Another firm which recently unveiled a digital wallet which is allegedly unhackable is Layer. The wallet was developed in collaboration with Trove, a fintech startup.
