CVS Health Corp (NYSE:CVS) Pharmacy seems to b moving very swiftly in accomplishing its targets for this year one of them being the opening of new drugstores. The retail division of CVS Health has opened the first of its three planned standalone stores in Colorado, at 16920 E. Lincoln Ave in Parker, CO. The grand opening of the store was marked with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Apart from the CVS officials, the likes of Colorado State Senator Jim Smallwood, Parker Mayor Mike Waid, and State Representative Kim Ransom were also in attendance.
CVS joins a competitive market, which has been dominated by the likes of Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc (NASDAQ:WBA), an established rival with a heavy presence in Colorado. However, through its spokeswoman, CVS says that its wheels are ready for the competition in the standalone stores
CVS was the first retail pharmacy to remove tobacco from its shelves
CVS is operating in more than 9,700 locations globally. The company hit the airwaves in 2014 when it stopped selling tobacco products. It was the first retail pharmacy to do so and it has also expressed its commitment to the selling of formaldehyde donors, parabens, and phthalates by close of 2019.
