Authorities in Thailand have given Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) a 4-day deadline to remove illegal pages from its social network. According to a report from Asian Correspondent, the social media company has until Tuesday morning to remove a total of 131 pages, mainly due to content insulting the monarchy.

The deadline was issued by the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission, Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, and Technology Crime Suppression Division. Thai authorities found a total of 309 illegal pages on Facebook. They asked the social network to block access to those pages but the company only removed 178 pages.

Now, Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) has been given the deadline of 10 Am of May 16 to block all 131 URLs. Otherwise, the company may face some legal action.

“If even a single illicit page remains, we will immediately discuss what legal steps to take against Facebook Thailand,” Takorn Tantasith, secretary-general of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission, was quoted as saying by The Guardian.

Under the Thailand’s law, it is illegal to insult any member of the royal family, with those convicted facing a sentence of 15 years.

Meanwhile, shares of Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) were trading up 0.16% on Friday. The stock is up over 30% so far this year.
