This gives the company an opportunity to showcase the interoperability of multi-vendor, multi-layer software-defined networking (SDN) Transport Application Programming Interface (T-API) with the InfineraXceed Software Suite and the DTN-X Family of packet optical transport models.

“Infinera is delighted to work with the OIF, ONF and industry leading carriers to demonstrate how our open software solutions interoperate in a multi-vendor environment to accelerate service delivery while simplifying network operations,” emphasized Chris Liou, Infinera Vice President (VP) of Network Strategy.

2016 OIF SDN T-API Interoperability Demonstration

The 2016 OIF SDN T-API Interoperability Demonstration stems from a 2014 demonstration based on prototype T-APIs that spearheaded transport SDN standardization.

The OIF will manage the interoperability demonstration, which will pave way to the massive deployment of commercial SDN. Meanwhile, the hosts include China Telecom Corporation Limited (ADR) (NYSE:CHA), China Unicom (Hong Kong) Limited (ADR) (NYSE:CHU), SK Telecom Co Ltd (ADR) (NYSE:SKM), Telefonica SA (ADR) (NYSE:TEF), and Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ).

InfineraXceed Software Suite

The InfineraXceed Software Suite provides cutting-edge SDN automation solutions that enable service providers to take advantage of new revenue streams and the automation of network operations. It is built on the OpenDaylight open source SDN controller to address the demands of transport networks.

Infinera XTM Series Deployment

Last month, the company has deployed the Infinera XTM Series to support the new data centers of Midcontinent Media, Inc.

The Infinera XTM Series will enable Midcontinent Media to provide high-density 100 GBps optical transport solutions, which is part of its network expansion prospects.

Infinera has closed at $9.49, up by 4.52%, during the latest trading session. China Telecom has concluded with a gain of 1.95% at $52.37; China Unicom with a gain of 1.33% at $12.23; SK Telecom with a decline of 1.96% at $21.98; Telefonica with a decline of 0.20% at $10; and Verizon Communications with a decline of 0.81% at $50.27.
