Vonage Holdings Corp. (NYSE:VG) has announced a partnership with Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) which will allow it to offer businesses enhanced features in its messaging service. This will be done through Nexmo, an API platform of Vonage, and will allow improved messaging on Android-based devices using RCS with a view to assisting business organizations have deeper and better relationships with their clients and hopefully result in business outcomes that are advantageous to all.

Through the partnership, Vonage’s business customers will benefit from RCS messaging and they will be able to read receipts, share photos or even engage in group chat. Already, a chat app for Nexmo has been developed for which a patent is pending.

The new service has been motivated by the fact that the expectations of customers in this digital age are that customer service should always be online and that they should be able to communicate using any device or platform or medium.

“More and more businesses today rely on contextual communications to engage customers wherever they are for increased loyalty and better business outcomes,” Alan Masarek, the chief executive officer of Vonage said.

More business revenues than consumer revenues

Vonage’s new offerings to its business clients comes after the chief executive officer revealed that the company’s outlook for this year is for business revenues to overtake consumer revenues. In the fourth quarter results, the portion of revenues from business services was 45%.

Going forward, Vonage projects that business revenue will fall in between $487 million and $493 million. Consumer revenue will on the other hand range between $483 million and $492 million. With business revenues showing more prospects for growth the company has assured stockholders that it will continue to optimize business operations with a view to increasing profitability.

Besides the collaboration deal with Google, Vonage has also been named as a launch partner by Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) for Chime – a service that delivers screen sharing, chat, video and voice for meetings. The deal will see Vonage offering Chime to its corporate clients from quarter two.

On Monday shares of Vonage Holdings Corp gained 2.46% to close the day at $6.24.
