Trulieve Cannabis (CSE: TRUL) (OTCQX: TCNNFannounced that it has started a process to realign and expand its leadership team in preparation for national expansion.

As part of the process, the company has accepted the resignation of its COO Kevin Darmody, effective October 10. Darmody, the former director of investor relations of Trulieve, was named COO in March this year.

Tim Morey, currently director of retail, has been appointed to chief sales officer. Previously, Morey led the dispensary roll out in Florida. He has played an integral role in the company’s business strategy. Prior to joining Trulieve, Morey had worked at Finish Line 12 years, holding the position of senior director of store operations.

Moreover, Kyle Landrum has been appointed chief production officer. Landrum has worked as the company’s director of cultivation since 2017. He currently manages all aspects of growing and harvesting cannabis plants.

Darmody’s responsibilities will be divided between  Morey and Landrum and repositioned to revenue generation activities, according to Trulieve.

Expansion

Trulieve is a “seed-to-sale” company and is the first licensed medical cannabis company in Florida. The company cultivates and produces all of its products in-house and distributes those products to Trulieve-branded stores throughout the state, as well as directly to patients via home delivery.

Seeing opportunities ahead, Trulieve is preparing to implement its strategy to become a leading multi-state operator. In addition to Florida, the company also operates in California, Massachusetts and Connecticut.  It is currently operating 37 dispensaries in Florida and on track to have 44 dispensaries in 2019.

Trulieve believes that the realignment in management will leverage its strategy of remaining the leader in the Florida market.

The retail sales of medical and recreational cannabis are expected to reach $12 billion by year-end, according to Marijuana Business Daily.
