Snap Inc (NYSE:SNAP) In Partership With Barstool Sports To Offer Behind-The-Scenes Look At American College Football

Snap Inc (NYSE:SNAP) has revealed that it has signed an agreement for joined efforts with Barstool Sports to bring some behind-the-scenes footage of American College football to its Snapchat social platform.

The company seems to be diving more into video, just like the big rivals such as Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) and Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR). However, Snapchat seems to be taking a rather subtle approach to original content on its platform, starting with college football highlights. The highlights will be hosted by Caleb Pressley who happens to be a former college football quarterback. Barstool Sports feature will Pressley showcasing the extreme pre and post-game traditions. He will also be joined by other Barstool website presenters.

“This is a brand that has always written for itself and created content for our crew first, and we set about to see about creating content for other platforms,” stated Barstool CEO Erika Nardini.

Barstool Sports is a male-oriented sports website that is based in New York. The College Football show on Snapchat will attempt to show off American Football. This includes all the wild traditions performed outside the stadiums and the tailgates that make college football more special. Sources familiar with the matter pointed out that the show will also give a look inside the locker rooms.

Nardini has been pushing for the firm to create content beyond the confines of the sports website and this has led to the partnership with Snapchat. Nardini and her team have also been creating content for other platforms including a radio show for Sirius XM Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:SIRI). The website has also teamed up with other networks such as Comedy Central.

The new show which will hold the title “Barstool U” will make an appearance on Snapchat Discover every Friday for the next 13 weeks. Each show is expected to last about three or four minutes and the first episode will feature the University of Georgia. Pressley will host the show together with Adam “Rone” Ferrone.

Snap stock closed the latest trading session on Thursday at $14.53 after tanking by 3.71 percent from the previous close.
