Procter & Gamble Co (NYSE:PG) Gillette Invites Caregivers In US, UK To Try Assisted Shaving Razor

Procter & Gamble Co (NYSE:PG) subsidiary Gillette recently unveiled TREO – the world’s first ever assisted shaving razor in a bid to ensure that it served its large number of customers with a good shaving experience.

The company has unveiled a new website where UK and US consumers have been called upon to request a product sample to try out and the journey has taken off with speed.

A three-month pilot phase is set to kick off soon and numerous institutions and professional care homes in both markets will eventually be partnering with the brand to test the Gillette TREO samples amongst their many care recipients and professional caregivers. There is a wide array of the institutional and at-home shaving experiences and most of the Gillette’s researchers and scientists as well are planning to gather first-hand feedback to refine the TREO product experience.

There are millions of people that need assistance every day and the role played by personal care cannot be downplayed towards upholding confidence, dignity and normalcy. But, the shaving process turns out to be a daunting, difficult and messy affair to many.

A recent research report brought forward the fact that over 8 million older adults in the US usually depend on help given to them by others in undertaking their daily activities. It is other people that shave them, dress them and even feed them. Last year, about 34.2 million Americans were found out to be committing their resources and efforts to helping adults, 50 years or older with basic care assistance.

The Vice President of Research & Development for Global Grooming at P&G, Melissa Monich, opined, “When we spoke with our partners like ASA, we learned that the primary goal of family members and professional caregivers alike is to help maintain a sense of normalcy and to support lost functions – like the ability to shave oneself.”
