Pandora Media Inc (NYSE:P) Will Host ‘Sounds Like You’ To Celebrate National Pride Month

Pandora Media Inc (NYSE:P) has announced that it will host the “Sounds Like You,” as part of celebrating National Pride Month.

Sounds Like You is a campaign that focuses on diversity, solidarity and individuality. The event which will take place on July 19 will celebrate the Sounds of New York city and it will feature performances from iconic artists such as Biz Markie, Dave East, Young M.A, and Nas. The artists will perform at Brooklyn Steel. Pandora Sounds Like You: NYC will be playing a mix that listeners can tune in to starting July 12. The mixtape will include some of the hits that have become famous in New York over the past 30 years.

“This event is a natural extension of the Sounds Like You campaign which was created to highlight the hyper personal music experience on Pandora. And on July 19, Pandora will sound like New York City, its artists and fans,” stated Jeff Zuchowski, the head of artist marketing at Pandora.

Jeff also added that his company was honored to be working together with artists such as Nas and Biz Markie. He also pointed out that the popularity of the artists and their music on Pandora is an example of how great hip-hop is. The firm created the “Sounds Like Pride” station which will feature personal Pride experiences from Jonny Pierce and Riff Raff.

Pandora’s stock takes a massive dive

Meanwhile, Pandora has been experiencing some tough times lately and that is evident in the stock performance. The internet radio company’s stock tanked to close at an all-time low on Friday. The stock continued in the same trend on Monday following a 2% decline. Pandora has been determined to change its situation and it recently managed to secure a $480 million investment from Sirius XM Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:SIRI).

The online radio company announced the investment about a week ago but the stock seems to have maintained its bearish trend despite the announcement. The stock has tanked by 47% so far this year.

Pandora stock closed the latest trading session on Thursday at $7.51.
