According to Nokia, cell capacity will be increased by up to five times by the 4.9G MIMO Adaptive Antenna. Telecom operators will also be able to make use of unlicensed spectrum to allow Gigabit speeds by utilizing the 4.5G Pro AirScale Micro Remote Radio Head. This would improve the data speeds among the operators enabling them to achieve new targets. Capacity would also be enhanced in a bid to improve customer satisfaction.

Complementary technology

To complement the current Radio Antenna System of Nokia, there will be a variety of AirScale Active Antennas. There will also be an AirScale Compact Active Antenna that will lower operator costs and increase performance by providing a leaner site solution.

For operators with few and different blocks of spectrum, Nokia will make the 4.5G Pro Gigabit data speeds possible. With the commercial rollout of the new AirScale Micro Remote Radio Head, such operators will be able to make networks more dense. Using Licensed Assisted Access, macro sites will be able to leverage unlicensed spectrum.

Cutting COemissions

As competition heightens and the global population gets increasingly urbanized, telecom operators are in great need of solutions that allow them to slash CO2 emissions while cutting costs at the same time. Nokia’s AirScale base station enables them to do just that since operators are able to cut operational expenses by up to forty percent while reducing their carbon footprint. Using new hardware and software features, the energy consumption of operators will be reduced by up to 50 percent with the Nokia Zero Emission 3.0. AirScale deployment life cycle can be accelerated by up to forty percent through automation using the Intelligent Deployment Platform.

In Tuesday’s trading session, shares of Nokia Corp rose by 0.20 percent to close the day at $4.97.
