Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT), Cray Inc (NASDAQ:CRAY) Partner To Enhance Supercomputing

The stock of Cray Inc (NASDAQ:CRAY) closed at $18.95 gaining 2.99% in yesterday’s trading session. This supercomputer leader has made the announcement regarding its exclusive collaboration with Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT).

The world is currently witnessing a new era of discovery and insight and the new alliance seeks to offer enterprises a wide array of tools that they need to make it through. The two business gurus will also be targeting expanding the availability of supercomputing to new customers and new markets.

Under the new partnership, Cray and Microsoft will move together to engage customers in a more direct way. The two hope to succeed in their quest to offer dedicated Cray supercomputing systems in Microsoft Azure datacenters and that is expected to move quite a long way towards enabling customers run AI, simulate workloads at unprecedented scale and above all seamlessly connect to the Azure cloud.

Cray understands the great need for it to address the ever growing demand for real-time insights, compute capability and the scalable performance needed by enterprises today. The new partnership is a major step forward since it is making it a lot much easier for the various cloud customers to utilize the power of supercomputing as well as take a notch higher their problem solving potential.

Microsoft and Cray have in a joint statement expressed their desire to avail the associated advantages to the new set of customers who sometime back were unable to buy or maintain an on-premise Cray system.

The availability of Cray supercomputers in Azure in a major way empowers analysts, researchers and scientists to effectively train AI deep learning models in areas such as the autonomous vehicles and medical imaging in the shortest time possible.

The president and CEO of Cray, Peter Ungaro, has said that the partnership with  Microsoft  will help them unveil Cray supercomputers  to a new class of customers requiring advanced computing resources towards the expansion of their problem solving capabilities.

The corporate vice president working with Microsoft Azure, Jason Zander, opined, “Using the enterprise-proven power of Microsoft Azure, customers are running their most strategic workloads in our cloud.”
