JPMorgan Chase & Co (NYSE:JPM) Preparing People For High-Demand Careers On The South Side

JPMorgan Chase & Co (NYSE:JPM) is backing up the Arthur M. Brazier Foundation to benefit Chicago’s at-risk population.

It channeled a $500,000 data-driven investment to the foundation which has helped expand Chicago residents’ access to economic opportunity. That has been through the robotics technician training program that has been operated by the BSD Industries.

BSD is a social enterprise of the Brazier Foundation. It mainly focuses on delivering economic opportunities to South Side neighborhoods.

The manufacturing sector is currently associated with some major technological upgrades. This is a sector that is quite demanding in terms of the advanced skills that it requires. The turnover in an aging workforce is the other issue. It goes without saying that the advanced manufacturing roles in Chicago needed proper planning and one of the best strategies would be to rake in a large number of skilled workers.

Careers for Machine installation occupations and the middle-skill computer controlled programmers are expected to experience a growth of about 9 percent by 2023 across the Chicago region.

Reportedly, JPMorgan is at the moment channeling about $350 million to skills development globally as well as to data-driven solutions. In Chicago, the provider targeted developing a set of strategies to address the wide array of workforce challenges.

To achieve its goal, the company has been investing a lot of time as well into advancing the skills of its employees. It has also been collaborating with community leaders, employers, workforce system, education institutions, and other leaders in a bid to reach its goals.

The Chairman and CEO of JPMorgan Chase, Jamie Dimon opines, “Our investment will help BSD Industries provide the neighborhood workforce with the skills and experience they need to get a job in advanced manufacturing and put themselves on a path to a better life.”

JPMorgan Chase & Co asserts businesses and the community working together happen to be their best opportunity to resolve major issues such as access to good jobs.
