Jamie Dimon Hates Bitcoin But JPMorgan Hiring Blockchain Expert

A few days ago, JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE:JPM) CEO Jamie Dimon made the Bitcoin community angry by calling the virtual currency “fraud and scam.”

Dimon said that he’d fire anyone at JPMorgan “in a second” for trading bitcoin because the virtual currency trading is “stupid” and “far too dangerous.”

But, many in the Bitcoin community are amazed to learn that JPMorgan is betting on the Blockchain technology, which powers the virtual currency Bitcoin.

Interestingly, the company posted a job opening for a Blockchain professional, according to a report in The Coin Telegraph.

According to the job description, JPMorgan is looking to hire Technical Project Execution Manager “to collaborate with engineering, product management and business partners in the delivery of Distributed Ledger technology (Blockchain) strategies for the CIB.”

“The Blockchain Center of Excellence (BCOE) leads efforts for applications of distributed ledger technology (DLT) within J.P. Morgan. We are exploring Blockchain use cases and piloting solutions across business lines. We are active in the Blockchain ecosystem: developing technology, investing in strategic partnerships, and participating in industry consortia,” the company said in the job description.

Blockchains use distributed ledger technology and are originally developed as the accounting method for Bitcoin, according to Investopedia.
