Emerald Health Increases Sales After Fulfilling Ontario Cannabis Purchase Order

Emerald Health Therapeutics Inc. (OTCMKTS:EMHTF) has indicated that it has finalised its first cannabis purchase order from the Ontario Cannabis Retail Corporation that operates as Ontario Cannabis Store.

Expanding supply to other provinces through OCS

Emerald Executive Chairman and President, Dr. Avtar Dillon, indicated that the company is scaling up its production in the wholly-owned state-of-the-art indoor cultivation facility, Verdelite. He also added that the company plans to scale up its production in the Pure Sunfarms greenhouse operation that they own jointly.

Avtar indicated that they were working towards meeting the company’s supply commitments for the distribution of Emerald branded cannabis products in Newfoundland Labrador and British Colombia. The company is prepared to expand their service that they offer in these provinces to the Ontario Cannabis Retail Corporation as well as other provinces. Currently Emerald has distribution access to almost half the population of non-medical cannabis users in Canada. The company is advancing its prospective supply agreement with various partners, and they hope to receive market exposure across the country eventually.

Increasing production capacity of its facilities

The company currently supplies its cannabis primarily through its 88,000 square feet indoor state of the art Verdelite facility in St Eustache Quebec. The company also supplies through the 50%-owned Pure Sunfarms greenhouse facility that is 1.1 million square feet located in Delta British Colombia. Recently the company announced that they are adding another 206,000 square feet of production space bringing the total of the joint venture with Sunfarms to around 1.03 million square feet.

Emerald is equally working to increase its sources and indoor Volume as well as outdoor and greenhouse grown cannabis and CBD products. As part of its expansion plans the company in 2018 purchased harvested hemp of over 500 acres and in 2019 the company is targeting to acquire over 1000 acres of harvested hemp.

The company is implementing the necessary steps that can help it achieve large-scale production. The emerald-branded cannabis products will be available through the Ontario Cannabis Store by next week.
