Emerald Health Fulfills Yukon Purchase Order, Alberta Supply Agreement

Emerald Health Therapeutics (OTCMKTS:EMHTF) has announced that they have fulfilled their first Yukon Liquor Corporation cannabis purchase order and the signing of a sales agreement with Alberta Gaming Liquor and Cannabis.

Emerald to supply five provinces

They have also been registered officially by the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority to supply the Saskatchewan market with cannabis. Emerald is already licensed to carry cannabis operations in Quebec and British Colombia in Canada.

The company expects to make its first shipment to Saskatchewan and Alberta this month. Speaking about the expected shipment, Executive Chairman and President, Avtar Dhillon, indicated that they were pleased to offer their branded cannabis products to adult markets in Saskatchewan, Alberta as well as Yukon. Following the expansion to these regions, the number of provinces Emerald supplies has increased to five including the addition of one territory in Canada. Avtar indicated that the agreement was a major milestone in the company’s sales strategy as they look to become one of the most reliable national suppliers of recreational cannabis in Canada.

Increasing supply through the acquisition of harvested hemp

The company has been consistently meeting its supply commitments in British Colombia, Newfoundland, Ontario, and Labrador. Emerald is also advancing its prospective supply contracts in the rest of the provinces and territories as a way of developing a significant presence in the Canadian recreational cannabis market.

The company gets its cannabis supply from their Verdelite indoor production located in Saint Eustache Quebec as well as from Pure Sunfarms. Pure Sunfarms is Emerald’s 50% owned subsidiary in British Colombia that has a license to carry out cultivation in 1.03 million square feet of their 1.1 million square foot greenhouse.

The Pure Sunfarms facility has increased its production in the last four quarters and by April it will be planted fully. The company is working on the expansion of its sources and volumes of the greenhouse, indoor as well as outdoor cultivated hemp and cannabis.

Last year the company acquired over 500 acres of harvested hemp and there are plans to purchase an additional 1,000 acres of hemp this year.
