CVS Health Corp (NYSE:CVS)’s retail medical clinic, MinuteClinic, is now a member of Alere eScreen Occupational Health Network. Organizations that use the services of Alere eScreen Occupational Health Network and whose employees are required to undergo health screening before getting employed or as part of the employment terms can now direct these employees to the over 1,100 MinuteClinic outlets that are located all over the United States.

“MinuteClinic is pleased to partner with Alere eScreen to provide workplace health services to employers and their employees at times and locations that are convenient for them,” MinuteClinic’s executive director and Senior Vice President, Sharon Vitti, said.

Various health services

As a result of the new partnership that Alere eScreen has formed with MinuteClinic, employees will now be able to access services such as drug testing and physicals required by the U.S. Department of Transportation, vaccinations and biometric screenings at MinuteClinic locations. To choose a location employees who require any of these services should visit the website of Alere eScreen. Upon selecting a location the employee will then key in the necessary demographic data after which they can print out an e-passport which they will present to the provider. The e-passport also identifies which screenings or tests that the employer has requested.

Launched in 2000, MinuteClinic operates throughout the weeks and this includes public holidays and evenings. The biggest retail clinic operator which is present in 33 states as well as the District of Columbia is staffed by physician assistants and nurse practitioners. The specialty of these medical professionals is family health care.

Prevention and wellness

Diagnosis, treatment and writing of prescriptions for such acute illnesses as bronchial, bladder, sinus, eye, ear and strep throat infections can be thus be done at these retail clinics. The treatment of abrasions and minor wounds, joint pain, strains and sprains can also be done by MinuteClinic providers. Wellness and prevention services as well as administration of such common vaccinations as Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, pneumonia, tetanus and influenza are other services offered at MinuteClinic locations.

On Tuesday shares of CVS Health Corp fell by 0.64% to close the day at $77.64.
