Other Events.
On June 16, 2017, Cigna Corporation (“Cigna”) received notification from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (“CMS”) that the marketing and enrollment sanctions imposed by CMS on January 21, 2016, have been lifted. Effective immediately, Cigna may resume marketing of its Medicare Advantage-Prescription Drug and Medicare Part D Plans and may begin enrolling beneficiaries with effective dates beginning July 1, 2017.
In addition, based on the final Medicare Star Ratings for the 2018 payment year, we expect that approximately 60% of our Medicare Advantage customers will be in a 4 Star or greater plan.
