Blockchain Acquires New Startup In San Francisco

Blockchain, a cryptocurrency and data provider based in the UK, announced recently that it has acquired a startup in San Francisco. The move is part of the company’s larger expansion strategy. In the recent past, Blockchain also acquired a software firm, Tsukemen to develop its software and mobile application projects. Tsukemen is a startup app-development firm founded by Thianh Lu.

Blockchain is based in London but has other offices in New York and Luxembourg. A team of four persons from Tsukemen will join the Blockchain team to speed up the process of integrating the app-development systems.

Blockchain’s Expansion Strategy

The latest deal will make the Blockchain to own offices in four cities across the globe, that is, London, New York, Luxembourg, and now San Francisco. According to Peter Smith Co-founder and CEO of Blockchain, Tsukemen has a diverse and remarkable talent and the company is happy to join efforts with creative individuals to enhance the operations of Blockchain.

Smith stated that the company is focused on expanding its services to serve a large market and the plans include the hiring of experienced individuals including the former Goldman Sachs executive Breanne Madigan and lawyer Marco Santori as the sales and strategy lead and chief legal officer, respectively to support the firm’s long-term objectives.

Blockchain offers various digital currency wallets for investors to store their cryptocurrencies. The company is currently designing the financial service infrastructure using its blockchain technology and other innovative principles of cryptocurrencies.

Last year, Blockchain raised $40 million and has expanded rapidly since then. The firm is determined to double its size by the end of 2018. The company has hired top-notch individuals from the industry including the Peter Wilson, formerly from Google and Facebook, he’s currently the vice president of the engineering department at Blockchain.

With a talented team in place, Blockchain is optimistic to attain its goal of scaling its operations and continuous development of best-in-class products and service to serve its diverse customers.
