BlackBerry Fiscal 2018 First Quarter Results

At the end of June, BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) reported financial results for the three months ended May 31, 2017. Revenue for the first quarter was $235 million, significantly down from $400 million a year ago. The company reported a profit of $671 million, or $1.23 a share, versus a loss of $670 million, or $1.28 a share, a year earlier. The profit included a $940 million arbitration payment from Qualcomm.

Rumor: BlackBerry Might Release Another Smartphone Soon

BlackBerry released KEYone smartphone earlier this year. According to rumors, the company is preparing another smartphone that could arrive sometime this year. TLC, a Chinese company that has a license to build BlackBerry-branded devices, is said to making the new phone. According to the leaked information, the new phone will feature a screen with 1920×1080 resolution and will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 processor.
