Barnwell Industries, Inc. is engaged in the acquisition and development of oil and natural gas properties. The Company’s four principal segments are Oil and Natural Gas Segment, Land Investment Segment, Contract Drilling Segment and Residential Real Estate Segment. The Company’s Oil and Natural segment is engaged in oil and natural gas development, acquisitions and sales in Canada. The Company’s Land Investment Segment invests in land interests in Hawaii. The Company’s Contract Drilling Segment provides well drilling services and water pumping system installation and repairs in Hawaii. The Company’s Residential Real Estate segment develops homes for sale in Hawaii. As of September 30, 2015, the Company had interests in approximately 200 gross (32.4 net) productive wells.
