Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) Siri Settles For Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) After Ditching Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) Bing

Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) closed at $154.23 gaining 0.71% in yesterday’s trading session. Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) has revealed its plan to pay Apple about $3 billion per year so that it acts as the default search engine for Apple’s Safari web browser. The move to use Google for these new services is expected to offer the various users a more consistent search experience across more Mac and iPhone features.

Most probably, improving Siri’s performance would involve switching the default web search in Siri from Bing to Google.

Google’s Search API usually provides the digital assistant with access to the Knowledge Graph database and the ranked search results. Siri will be keen on using this particular API to carry out crucial roles. The AI-powered system is entrusted with the leveraging of search results to the surface links between entities and objects.

A recent study conducted by digital marketing agency Stone Temple has revealed the crucial role the Knowledge Graph has always played. That is especially when it comes to Google’s moves to spearhead accuracy in the voice assistant space.

The Knowledge Graph usually powers Google Assistant and a number of experiments have been carried out lately to determine the effectiveness of this tool. Google Assistant beat Siri by quite a large margin after it managed to answer 68% of 5,000 questions correctly. On the other hand, Siri only managed to answer 22% of the questions correctly.

Google is more inclined to seeing the benefit of partnership from a monetary perspective. One would raise an argument by citing that provider is limited to the mobile web searches. However, there is more than meets the eye about the company.

An analysts familiar with the market dynamics opined, “Apple users account for nearly half of all Google’s mobile search revenue. By becoming the default search engine for more of Apple’s OS services, especially for video results, Google should see added returns in mobile ad revenue.”

Google has also promised to do all within its means to ensure that its mobile search platform remains a primary mode of mobile discovery. It makes this promise at a time when the voice search is becoming quite popular.
