Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) And Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) Introduce Technologies Into The Healthcare Realm

Artificial Intelligence is quickly taking on today’s market given that close to every Smartphone and computer has a smart assistant trapped inside trapped inside them. However, the technology also seems to be taking on some of the big industries. Siri from Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Cortana from Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) have found their way into the realm of healthcare.

Notably, AI has a variety of avenues in its assimilation thanks to the resurgence of computational techniques. The technology is not only becoming convenient but also meaningful and especially when engaging the elderly.

But what role is AI playing in healthcare?

The timeline regarding the mass integration of AI could be looking murky at the moment. However, CTO of Industry Platforms at IBM, Tom Eck thinks there is room for change.

Eck says, “Now, with new machine learning models and computing grid models, diagnostics have improved – one field that has really accelerated has been computer vision, there’s been greater specificity in detecting tumors in radiographs.”

IBM’s Developer Advocate Bruce Weed also takes note of how AI is steadily integrating itself into various segments of research and particularly cancer and medical data within dermatology. New data presented by IBM at the ASCO clearly outlined the use of Watson in enhancing cancer treatment.

The use of AI in a plethora of applications

Every coin has two sides and so is the AI technology. There is a rising concern over the gradual replacement of humans with machines. They have their own problems after all the likes of potential cybersecurity risks, which apparently are becoming very prevalent.

However, Dave Sorin venture capital firm McCarter and English LLP claim that the union between man and technology cannot be wiped away. Executive Director of Memory Lane, Erum Azeez Khan further emphasizes that AI alleviates certain tensions in healthcare thanks to its accessibility.

On the other hand, it is also being used in a plethora of applications one of them being chatbots to mimic conversations. Thus its incorporation into everyday life is not in vain. Meanwhile, Apple’s stock closed at, $154.99 a fall of $0.38 or 0.24% while that if Microsoft traded at $71.95 a fall of $0.44 or 0.61%.
