Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) Google has again reaffirmed its commitment towards making the internet a safer place.  The CAPTCHA security service used by many websites that seek to establish whether or not we are robots has been updated by Google.  No one will be asked to tick a checkbox saying “I am not a robot” anymore.

The search giant is re-launching the service to be christened reCaptcha, which the company asserts offers more than just the usual spam protection. The new move illustrates how much more Google is seeking to improve the technology given the many times people’s websites and accounts have been hacked.

New version will not require direct human interaction

Google says that the new security tool will help protect websites and users alike and without having to tick a text or check box.  The initiative is aimed at removing the annoyance linked to determining whether or not a user is legitimate. Instead of the checkbox, the new tool will employ the use of highly developed risk analysis engine and adaptive CAPTCHAs.

“reCaptcha uses an advanced risk analysis engine and adaptive Captchas to keep automated software from engaging in abusive activities on your site. It does this while letting your valid users pass through with ease,” says Google in a statement.

Google yet to divulge more specifics

The tech giant seems to have much more to offer in regard to the new development. However, it has remained tight-lipped but it has hinted the possibility of having a user’s full engagement with the CAPTCHA.  Visually impaired users have also been put into consideration and will access the CAPTCHA in an audio format.

CAPTCHA not only plays a significant role in website security matters but also in automated digitization of books. The tool runs silently in the background while blocking threats and attacks without disrupting surfing activities. Meanwhile, Alphabet’s stock closed at $864.58 witnessing an increase of $3.17 or 0.37%.
